I'll keep it plain and simple: Whats a nonconspicuous way to ask your girlfriend her ring size? ^.^; I don't want her to know but I can't get her something that wont fit :X

Hmmm... besides studying her hands and trying to find someone else with similar hands, I would say your best be would be to ask her mom or her grandmother.

Most places that sell good rings offer free sizing, so if worse comes to worst, just try to get close and if it doesn't fit, tell her she can bring it in and have it resized (or give it back to you and you can do it).

Can you borrow one of her other rings without her noticing? Make sure and get one that she wears on that finger or the same finger on the other hand.

As a girl the best ways are ask her mom or sister(if she has one) if not.. her best friend if they can be trusted to keep their mouth shut...
the best surefire way...... borrow one of the rings she never wears from the bottom of her jewlery box...

I've been thinking that. She noramly doesnt wear much jewelary besides a necklace I got her for christmas, but I'm sure I've seen her wear a ring now and then. I think I could try that method since her mother is kinda a jabber box and would have everyone in the family know >.<

Most reputable jewelers will be able to get darn close to the right size if you're able to give an accurate description of your GF to them......and most will do a 1 time "Free" resizing.
That's what I did to get the right size for my most recent "test drive"/promise ring...and James Avery nailed the size on the 1st try.

while she's sleeping.. get a tape measure (not the metal strip kinds that roll up into the little nifty case.. that would most likely snap when you tried to bend it) .. but the nylon kind that are all floppy and silent-like...

now, tie it into a little lasso, and sliiiiip it onto her finger.. careful not to catch her nail if she has those press-ons.. they are tricky sons o' baishes...

now sloooowly tighten it until you can measure the circumference of her finger!

then poke her really hard so she doesn't feel you sneak it off her finger and tell her that you thought you heard her cell phone ring in the other room.

done and done

As a woman, I'd suggest skipping this one.

Go for the "find the ring in the bottom of her jewelry box" one. That's the least likely to:

1. get your face ripped off when you're caught putting a lasso around her finger.
2. have her give you that "I know what you're doing" look since her mother/sister/best friend told her 3 weeks ago.

Oh Oh Oh! Use fingerprint dust after you've come back from a trip in your car or she's touched a glass windowpane in your house. Then measure the finger in question and do some horrid geometric equation to find the circumference.

If you can't ask her, someone else, and don't want to do a resizing, buy her a cheap "friendship" ring when you two are out sometime. It can be a simple silver band or something like that. Another thing to do it try one of her rings on your pinky so you have an idea on how tight it is, then get something that size. I wouldn't suggest that though.

Actualy it's not a bad idea.. And would be double "good boyfriend" points. I've been wanting to get her a nice gemstone for a while now as well...
